Norwegen, here we come

This holiday we went north. Norway, to be exact. Together with Anette and Koeby, we started at 6am. We had to reach the ferry from Hirtshals, that should take us to Slarvik. At 5pm we arrived at Hirthals harbor. We were fast and the Colorline Ferry was still two hours away. We went to the check in where a very kind norwegian steward welcomed us with the words: “I`ve got bad news for you.” when he saw our booking. The ferry was canceld due to rough sea. And indeed, as we drove through Denmark – what Nice we all completly forgot on our planning – the weather got worth the further we went north and the wind picked up every km me drove. We got a room for the four of us in a nearby Dan Center. After a trip to the beach, right behind our cabin, where the wind was so strong that flying sand was hard to bare. I had to use the fresh trashbag to build a protection for my Nikon. I once lost my first digital camera – a Canon Ixus on the beach and was quite anxious, but the szenario was looking too good to not try it.

Later that evening, we went to the restaurant inside the center and had a nice dinner, that made our day complete.

storm kept us ashore. strom and a trashbin lighthouse at hirtshals lighthouse hirtshals sand… flying sand and spry. trampoline fun at Darn Center

    gude falk!

thanks alot for the nice pictures of your trip to bergen! it is definitely an interesting holiday destination although i do get the impression that this trip was rather exhausting 🙂 one day i’ll take my wife and my dog and we’ll drive up to Sweden and norway. As i suffer from heat anyway i prefer cool countries!

One small sidenotice: I was impressed that you found so many fairies in norway. must be a very mystic country – i personally have not seen one yet, although i go for longs walks in the forest with my dog daily, they must be hiding. i’d love to see a fairy one day 🙂 Or did you mean “ferry” ? *SCNR*
I could not resist, sorry, i know i am an disgusting wiseacre, forgive me.

Hey James. Holiday was fine and exhausting to a cretain degree and off course you are right: there were more ferries than faries. 😉 My english is not the best, but I am trying to improve on it – that’s why I run this blog in english.

Taking dogs to norway is not easy. Nils will have to stay in quarantine under inspecton for a couple of weeks, AFAIK.
