On our way into the city center the week before last, we had to wait at a traffic light. I can’t even remember why I had lugged my camera along, since there really wasn’t any time for wildlife or photography. In any case, a trio of carrion crows—consisting of one parent and two offspring—came along Feldstraße. The two youngsters followed their parent, squawking, begging, and jostling the adult bird as they moved down the street; the parent, visibly exhausted, took turns feeding the pair. I can sympathize with that adult bird—I know what it’s like to deal with hungry, demanding youngsters.
