Icy

In German Kingfishers are called Eisvogel, wich translates to Icebird. It was a chilly morning when I took up my position just after seven, but I was greeted by a beautiful sunrise over the misty marshland. As it turned out, the kingfisher is something of a late riser too; we didn’t spot each other until shortly after 9 a.m. I imagine he needs a bit more light—just like me—to spot his prey in the murky water. A camo net and a face mask are currently making their way to me along with a 1.4x teleconverter, and if the weather cooperates, I’ll be back on site next Friday. For now, AI will have to work its magic to make a small crop look good.
