During my last three days on Rügen, I rented a bicycle and cycled around the southeastern corner of the island. My first destination was the *Schwarzer See* (Black Lake), as eagles were said to be frequently spotted there. The lake has only two small spots where the water is visible; the rest of the shoreline is densely overgrown and under strict nature protection. Waiting on the jetty mostly attracted crowds of visitors rather than any large birds. However, this pair of frogs was sitting on an old tree stump right by the jetty, completely unbothered by the passersby. Relying entirely on their camouflage, they went unnoticed by everyone but me 😉
